    Mom,
You taught me how to tie my shoes and how to write my name. You sat with me and helped me with my homework almost every day. When the Bactine stung my childhood scrapes, you hugged away the pain. I was alone when I had my first child. You were there to show me the way. You taught me so much about motherhood. You took care of my baby girl and loved her so much when I had to work. You taught me how to make the best baked macaroni and cheese…ever. We would just sit and talk about anything and everything. We watched the Hallmark Channel for hours. Mom…I miss you so much! My heart hurts! But, I know in my heart you are with the Lord Jesus, and with Dad again. I wish I could kiss you on the top of your head like I did when I would say goodbye. Today is your 98th birthday. Happy heavenly birthday, Mom! I love you with all my heart. I was blessed to have you for my mother. I thank God for giving you to me. You are an amazing woman!
    Love forever,
    Marie Elena

God looked down and called her name, then gently took her hand.
He said Rita, your place is ready, in Heaven up above.
Then she walked through Heaven’s gate, and felt so much at home.
She looked up and saw her loved ones, smiling and welcoming her home.
She is free from pain and sickness, no worries anymore.
Always remember her love for all, and the kindness of her gentle spirit.
When you are missing her, just remember, that she is right there in your heart.
We all love you mom/grandma/auntie/friend !
    💞💞💞

    I LOVE YOU MOM ! ❤
I know towards the end of your days here with us, you were weary, and struggling each day.
God heard your plea, and decided it was time that He brought you home.
You are now at peace with God, and all of your heavenly loved ones.
Remembering you and your love will be easy. I will cherish those thoughts every day.
Missing you will be daily, but I will find comfort, as I hold you tightly within my heart.
Some day I’ll get to see you, when it’s my time to pass through Heaven’s gate.
Until then, remember all our love, as you were loved so much.
    XXXOOO Love always,
    your daughter, Dottie

So sorry for your loss; prayers to your family.❤️ Mrs Ellithorpe was the sweetest person ever; so soft spoken. I never heard her raise her voice. I’ve known her since I was 18 years old and now I’m 58. I am a friend of her daughter Marie. I remember going to Marie’s house to pick her up when we were in our early 20s and Mrs Ellithorpe would say, “Now, you two girls be careful.” in the sweetest voice. I’ll always remember her telling us that. I love you, my friend.

    Letting Go
The angels gathered near your side,
    So very close to you,
For they knew the pain and suffering
    You were going through,
I thought about so many things,
So I held tightly to your hand,
Oh, how I wished that you were strong
    And happy once again.
But your eyes were looking homeward,
To that place beyond the sky,
Where Jesus held his outstretched arms,
It was time to say good-bye.
I struggled with my selfish thoughts,
For I wanted you to stay,
So we could walk and talk again,
    Like we did just yesterday.
But Jesus knew the answer and I knew he loved you so,
So I gave to you life’s greatest gift,
    The gift of letting go.

    Dearest Grandma,
I am completely heartbroken. We had big plans for our big birthday bash. In two years you would turn 100 and I would turn 50, but these were my plans and not God’s. He knew you were tired and heaven truly gained the best angel it could have. Grandma, you meant the world to me. You were not only my grandma, but a best friend, a confidant, a role model, travel companion and a hero. You were an awesome cook and I loved your potato salad, eggs on toast, fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, meatloaf and more. You were an excellent example of how to keep a tidy house and take care of my husband. I remember you even telling me how you would iron gramp’s underwear, although I won’t be doing that :). I learned a lot from you. The faucet was a “spigot,” umbrella was a “umbershoot,” there was the “stoop,” and the blimp was a “dirigible.” These are words that will stick with me forever. I treasure every moment you spent with me and my family on vacation and even our small trips to the mall or the movies. No matter where we went or what we did, as long as I was with you, we had a great time. I am blessed that I had you in my life for all these years. I know you are in a better place and I will hold you in my heart forever.

    Love,
    Christy
