To the families we serve:

This general price list reflects our commitment to provide consumer information to each family we are privileged to serve.

We feel it is important that you understand the alternatives available to you, as well as the specific costs for each of these services. We feel confident you will find the information you need within this price list. However, should you have any questions, your counselor is well qualified to answer them for you.

Experience has shown us that every person has individual needs. We want you to feel comfortable in asking us for anything that might make the arrangements more meaningful to you or those involved. If we do not have a particular item or service listed in this general price list, we will do everything in our power to provide it for you.

We are honored by the confidence you have placed in us, and we know you will find us worthy of that trust.

Prior to drafting any contract for goods or services, the responsible party or the decedent’s survivor who is handling the funeral arrangements is entitled to receive a copy of any pre-need agreement in the possession of the funeral establishment that has been signed and paid for, in full or in part, by or on behalf of the decedent.

• Adult caskets are offered from $725 to $5,995.
• Adult alternative containers are offered from $75 to $195.
• Adult rental casket is offered at $995.
• Child caskets are offered from $350 to $1895.
• Child alternative container is offered at $75.
• Child rental casket is not offered.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only those items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our services. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide, describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Professional Cremation Service Options: A majority of the families we assist tend to select arrangements in keeping with the following options. While you are free to make arrangements on an itemized basis, the following options are designed to simplify the arrangement process, and are offered on a cost-savings basis. As the options include various types or arrangements, no credit for deletions are possible. If you ask us to provide additional items or services, additional charges may apply. Your service consultant welcomes your questions. The following options have been discounted. All merchandise must be purchased from McKenzie Mortuary for these discounted options to be utilized, otherwise services will be itemized and not discounted.

Professional Cremation Service Options from $1,695.00 to $3,895.00

Our cremation options include: Transportation: removal from place of death within a 30-mile radius from the Long Beach area; Providing one certified copy of death certificate, along with the disposition permit.

Direct Cremation: $1,695.00  Cremation is performed within seven working days of receiving disposition permit. This price option applies to deceased individuals who are less than 250 pounds. Additional fees will be applied contingent upon those individuals who do not meet this weight restriction.

Direct Cremation with Identification: $1,895.00  Basic preparation is performed. Dressing, cosmetology and embalming are not utilized with this option. Decedent is presented on a viewing cot. This is not to be considered a formal visitation. The 30-minute identification option may not be suitable for all cases. The charges for a direct cremation are included in this option.

Witnessed Cremation: $1,995.00  Cremation with visual identification and witnessing the cremation container or casket placed in the cremation chamber. This option will allow up to six persons to view the cremation. The charges for direct cremation are included in this option.

Cremation with Memorial Service: $2,495.00  A memorial service provides an opportunity for family and friends to join together and share in a ceremony that celebrates a life lived. This includes the coordination and direction of a memorial service in our chapel. The charges for direct cremation are included in this option.

Cremation with Memorial Service at Sea (1‑35 persons)*: $3,495.00  An opportunity for family and friends to share in a tribute and final placement of the deceased on a Coast Guard certified yacht accommodating up to 35 persons departing from the Long Beach area. The charges for a direct cremation are included in this option.

Full Traditional Service followed by Cremation: $3,895.00  Coordination and direction of a funeral service in our chapel. Includes embalming, dressing, casketing and cosmetology. This service includes the visitation at our facility, a funeral vehicle and flower car. This option also includes crematory fees. The purchase or rental of a casket is not included in this option.

*Ask your counselor for more information on scattering cremains.

Professional Burial Service Options from $1,995.00  to $3,995.00

Burial Options Include: Local transportation of the deceased to our facility within 30 miles of Long Beach, minimum services of our staff, essential facilities and transportation of the casket to the cemetery.

Non-Witnessed Direct Burial: $1,995.00  Casket is delivered to designated cemetery within two days of receiving disposition permit. Family is notified of actual day, but not actual time of delivery. There is no viewing or services and a casket is in addition to the price of this option. This package includes a discount savings of $400.

Graveside Service: $2,995.00  Coordinating and directing graveside service in the cemetery of your choice. There is no viewing and a casket is in addition to the price of this option. This package includes a discount savings of $300.

Traditional Service: $3,995.00  Coordinating and directing a visitation at our chapel, including embalming, dressing, casketing and cosmetology. After the visitation, a funeral service is held at our chapel. After the service, the casket is transported to the cemetery of your choice for final services. The purchase of a casket is not included in this option. This package includes a discount savings of $426.

Professional Services of Funeral Home and Staff: A. Minimum Services of the Funeral Director and Staff: $1,595.00 This fee for our service will be added to the total cost of the service arrangements you select. This charge includes arrangements of the service, consultation with the family and clergy, service preparation and filing of necessary notices, authorizations and consents (this fee is already included and discounted in our packaged pricing).
B. Additional Services of the Funeral Director and Staff:
Coordination and direction of the funeral or memorial service conducted at a church, chapel, graveside or other facility:	$495.00
Weekend, holiday, and/or after hours per service:	$395.00
Transportation and setup procedures at church, chapel, graveside or facility, other than our own:	$175.00
Use of staff required for visitation:	$295.00
Preparation of consulate documents for transportation of remains or cremains out of the country (this does not include consulate fees or airfare):	$595.00
C. Use of Facilities:
Use of chapel facilities:	$525.00
Use of facilities for visitation (per hour):	$395.00
Use of operating room for private autopsy:	$595.00
Use of facilities for family dressing:	$175.00
Use of facilities for family-provided cosmetology, hair styling:	$125.00
D. Preparation of Remains: Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as a direct cremation or direct burial.

Refrigeration: (it is the policy of our firm, in compliance with California law, to require refrigeration of an unembalmed body after 24-hours):	$195.00/day

Family vehicle (a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, maximum of 14 persons) for four hours. (Each additional hour, $150 per hour):	$795.00
Flower/utility vehicle (price per vehicle):	$195.00
Transfer of cremated remains to local cemetery, residence, other facility, etc. within a 30-mile radius:	$165.00†
†Each additional mile will be charged at $4.00 per mile.
This list does not include prices for certain items that you may ask us to purchase for you, such as cemetery or crematory services, flowers and newspaper notices. The price for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected. We charge you for our services in purchasing these items for you.
