Shirley Janet Henderson 1947-2017

Shirley Janet Taylor was born in Vancouver, Canada on January 25, 1947 to Jesse and Stella Taylor. She was born the second of seven children. They moved to Los Angeles, California in 1950. Shirley was blessed to meet the true love of her life, Rodney Henderson, while working at Bank of America, in 1972. Together they raised six beautiful children, and happily celebrated 42 years of marriage. Shirley was a avid “Laker” fan and loved attending her children’s sporting events and husband’s musical performances. Her hobbies included shopping, bowling and traveling. She cherished laughter with her family. Cooking and baking was her passion and she used her skills to feed the needy at church and to bless family and friends. She loved being a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was funny, thoughtful and was the very center of her family’s life. Shirley loved the Lord, and lived a life full in Christ that afforded her God’s greatest honor, Heaven. We Rejoice!
