LIFE TRIBUTE – Ronald A. Ferguson

Ronald A. Ferguson

1958 -2023

Ronald A. Ferguson (lovingly known as “Fergie,” “Ronnie Boy,” “Ron,” Figgy,” “Baldy” and “Honey Bear” of Inglewood, California was unexpectedly called home on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Ron was born on April 17, 1958 to James and Evelyn Ferguson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ron was a father, brother, uncle, cousin, mentor, friend and an all-around loving and caring guy.

Shortly after graduating from Germantown High School in 1976, he joined the U. S. Air Force. As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he cared for and served his country well. Ron worked as an Information Technology (IT) Systems Analyst for the City of Los Angeles for 25 years until his retirement in 2018 and held numerous IT certifications.

Ron was a sports enthusiast while also playing his drums regularly. He was fiercely devoted to his family and spent his time, after retirement, perfecting his golf swing, catching up on current events, working out, analyzing stocks and bonds, and flying one of his many drones. We will miss his infectious laugh, his sense of humor, his compassion for helping others, and his analytical and critical ways of thinking, and most of all, the headlocks with the “noogies” to the forehead as you walked by.

Ron leaves behind his big brother Jeffrey, his sisters Brenda (Kelvin) and Tamara; his beloved niece Danielle; his nephews Keyon (Zannia), Kelvin Jr., Keith (Takeela) and Darryl, II; great-nephews Taj, Alexander, Ayden, Knoah, and Isayiah, and one great niece Kamaya, as well as his cousins and many LA friends and former co-workers. Ron strongly impacted each life he touched. He will be sorely missed, and the many memories shared will never be forgotten.

Ron was predeceased by his mother, father and his only child, Ranston “Randy” who left this world too soon. The pain of losing a son will never go away, but the shared memories last forever. Randy was loved beyond words and his life was a blessing. Ron and Randy will be missed beyond measure and their memories will always be treasured.

Ron, your spirit will live in our hearts and memories forever. May you rest in peace!

Interment services honoring Ron will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00PM at the Los Angeles National Cemetery, 950 Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90049.

In lieu of flowers, please give to the American Red Cross, an organization Ron felt very strongly about.
