LIFE TRIBUTE – Alison Marie Dodge

Alison Marie Dodge

1964 -2023

Fabulous and fun, gregarious and generous, compassionate and sweet, our dear sister Alison passed away at age 59 on July 8, 2023. We are heartbroken. Alison grew up in a family of seven and always loved to talk; one of her nicknames was Constant Comment! At La Canada High School, Alison was a cheerleader, and, impressively, got an A in chemistry. Because she was fun and funny, you wanted Alison at your party, in your cabin at Canyon Meadows church camp, and anywhere else where she would liven up the room with her larger-than-life personality. Not your typical Biola College student, Alison shared tales of climbing out her dorm window to go out dancing with fellow students; fittingly, she earned her B.A. in Sociology. Alison’s outgoing and caring nature helped her achieve tremendous success in sales—at Nordstrom, McKenna BMW, and Pro-Employer Staffing.

Alison celebrated her 10-year sobriety birthday on March 26, 2023, a day she called more important than her natal birthday. With her significant health challenges over the past several years, Alison’s 10-year chip was especially treasured. Alison loved her extended family and friends at her Marina Pacifica and women’s meeting groups, and she would always bring thoughtful presents to celebrate their sobriety birthdays.

Alison laughed, loved, and lived large. She adored her family and always looked forward to family gatherings where she’d have scratch lasagne for 20. The hilarious games of Scattergories lasted long into the night!

Alison leaves behind her brother, Tom Dodge; her sisters, Elizabeth Dodge Tyson (John), Beverly Dodge Pink (Doug), and Jennifer Dodge; her amazing nieces: Sydney Pink, Victoria Tyson, and Charlotte Tyson; and her awesome nephews: Alex Pink, Drew Pink, JJ Tyson, and Thomas Dodge.

Alison’s memorial service and celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 15th, 8:30 a.m. at Rosie's Dog Beach, 5000 E. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach California. In lieu of flowers, Alison would love for you to call and encourage someone and make them feel special and loved.

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
