LIFE TRIBUTE – Barbara Ann (Herring) Anderson

Barbara Ann (Herring) Anderson

1958 -2025

Barbara Ann Anderson passed away on January 18, 2025. She was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Norwalk. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969, attended Cerritos College and has lived in Huntington Beach since the late 1970s where she met her husband Gary. They both loved the beach, the ocean, riding bikes, playing pool, and spent many wonderful vacations on Catalina Island during their 31 years of marriage.

Barb was a talented writer and actor. Her stories, poems, and performances brought much enjoyment to others. In her spare time, she loved reading books and playing Forge of Empires, where she met friends from around the world. She was quite a foodie who relished both her favorite restaurants and trying new ones. Her passion for pets led her to work in the veterinary field for many years, along with being a wonderful mom to her dog and cats. She considered herself Quaker, and was known to say her religion was kindness, which she practiced every day. She was a gentle, loving, old soul, and everyone who knew her loved her. Her inner strength and constant positive attitude were and will continue to be a defining influence on those who knew her.

She was preceded by her husband, and is survived by her brother, sister, brother-in-law, niece, cousins, and her much loved cat, Johnny Angel.

In memory and celebration of Barb’s life—be grateful, be positive, adopt a pet, and give to charity.
