LIFE TRIBUTE – Greg Andrew Galisky

Greg Andrew Galisky

1951-2024

Gregory was born to Joe and Kitty Galisky in Los Angeles. He was a mischievous and curious child, always exploring what made things tick, many times ending the day as a patient in the ER. He attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary School, then Don Bosco High School, and obtained a BS from Cal Poly Pomona. Greg began working in the field of technology, involving himself in intricate electrical and security systems, before entering property design, construction, and management.

Greg was at his finest when he could troubleshoot and repair any glitch, especially in computer systems. He dabbled in photography, pyrotechnics, piloting, and automobile repair. He liked visiting with friends, debate, and travel. Greg had a wicked sense of humor and was quick to laugh but also had a serious side.

Greg explored his Polish/Ukrainian roots, and researched his grandfather Leon’s (Pop) immigration to the US in 1934. 65 years later, Greg organized travel for Pop’s children—Tony, Helen, Joe, Virginia, Al—and their spouses to Moscow and Ukraine. They had an emotional and impactful trip, connecting with distant relatives and seeing the life left behind.

Greg suffered several medical setbacks, but pushed through his disabilities and never focused on what he couldn’t do. He loved the ocean, listening to music, having a good cup of coffee, was always caring and generous to the raccoons, opossums, and cats that adopted him. He was a tinker at life, always sorting the snafu, the challenging and the unresolved. Greg was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and he will be deeply missed.
