Peri D. Rasko, 59, passed away after a 21-month battle with stage IV breast cancer, on September 20, 2023, in Long Beach, California. Born in Queens, New York, she resided in New York, Hawaii, and California. She enjoyed music, travel (especially to the beach) and spending time with family and friends. Her generosity and love knew no bounds.
She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa for a short time and completed her nursing degree at Palomar College. She worked tirelessly as a registered nurse for 30 years. She began as a new grad at both LA Metro, “The Pink Hospital,” and Bellflower Medical Center. She then worked in the emergency room at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center for the next 20 years, before transitioning to telehealth at the Molina Nurse Advice Line and finally, Optum Health Services. She saved countless lives and never stopped giving. Her legacy is one of love, laughter and kindness.
Surviving are her daughter, Marielle Rasko, her sister Stacey Rasko, her husband Stephen Martinis, and their children Garrett and Alixandra Rasko-Martinis. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made in memory of Peri D. Rasko to Breast Cancer Angels Network, or her Go Fund Me page.
