Vernon Patrick Acampora
1967-2022
 | Vernon Acampora, 55 of Bellflower, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Born on April 14, 1967 in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Doris Swift Acampora and Pasquale Acampora.
Vern spent the first half of his life in New England, primarily in Connecticut and Rhode Island and the second half in Southern California. Vern had a passion for music and was an enthusiastic lyricist. Over the years he was the lead singer in many bands, and most recently the singer of Uninvited in the Long Beach area. He could out-sing anyone at a karaoke bar, and he frequented many in the area regularly. Vern’s charismatic energy, magnetic pull, and positive attitude drew people to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Vern is survived by his daughters, Brittani Acampora Wahlberg and Ashlee Acampora; his granddaughter Brighton Wahlberg (daughter of Brittani and Jason); siblings, Doreen Poirier Stec, Donna Poirier Emery, Mary Acampora LeClair, Carol Acampora Chichester, Anthony Acampora, Carl Acampora, Jody Acampora, and KC Acampora; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his older brother Douglas Poirier.
A memorial will be held for Vern at a later date. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Vern’s honor to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. McKenzie Mortuary Services of Long Beach, CA is handling the arrangements.
